MOTORISTS who use the Toowoomba Bypass are set to be hit with higher tolls from July 1.
Currently motorcyclists pay $1.15 to use the road, cars $2.30, light commercial vehicles $5.70 and heavy vehicles $22.85.
Fees are set to increase by a few cents at the start of the next financial year.
Motorcyclists will pay $1.17, cars $2.34, light commercial vehicles $5.80 and heavy vehicles $23.27.
According to the Queensland Government, toll prices increase annually in line with the Brisbane Consumer Price Index (CPI).
"This measure is put in place to ensure toll increases are reasonable and do not exceed increases in the cost of living," a government spokesperson said.
The Toowoomba Bypass was opened in September last year and was free to motorists in its first three months of operation.
Only the range crossing section of the road is tolled.
From the Mort St Interchange to the Gore Highway the road is free to use.
