TOOWOOMBA businesses have jumped on board and taken the opportunity to learn more about how they can proactively provide a healthy workplace by attending the Healthy Workplaces Breakfast today to hear from experts in this space.

Businesses know that the health and wellbeing of your staff can have a direct affect on your business' bottom line and be an important determining factor in your ability to position your business as an employer of choice.

Participants at Chamber's Healthy Workplaces Breakfast gained insights into what Queensland businesses are implementing to support health and wellbeing in their workplace and went away with some simple strategies that they could implement in their own businesses.

The Toowoomba business community is on the front foot on the issue of health and wellbeing and we are seeing many local businesses implement simple yet innovative measures in their workplaces to encourage health and wellbeing.

A healthy workforce means increased productivity, a decrease in absenteeism and an obvious flow on affect to the health and wellbeing of the broader community.

While Toowoomba is no stranger to fantastic events - we do have a particularly special one coming up.

World Mental Health Day is October 10 and this year Unleash the Beast will be held right here in Toowoomba.

The very first writer's symposium for Toowoomba and it will be focusing on health and wellbeing.

Unleash the Beast is bringing speakers from across Australia to Toowoomba to discuss with our community how we can all be involved in driving a stronger, healthier community.

The symposium will provide visiting writers the opportunity to share their own stories about how mental health and wellbeing affects us as individuals, workplaces and as a community.

We are proud to be supporting this event and in particular the Managing the Beast marketplace which will provide businesses offering services in this area the opportunity to be involved by exhibiting.

If your business would like to take the opportunity to exhibit or you would just like to attend visit www.unleashthebeast.net.au to book your tickets or contact the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce for further information.
