Three in hospital after multi-car crash blocked a busy road

ONE person was trapped and two were injured after a three-vehicle crash blocked one of Toowoomba's busiest intersections.

UPDATE: Paramedics have transported three women to the Toowoomba Hospital. 

All had abdominal injuries and were transported in a stable condition. 

Crash West & James

Paramedics assessed a fourth patient, who declined transport and made his own way to the hospital. 

11AM: One person is trapped and two are seriously injured after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of James St and West St. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said firefighters are using the jaws-of-life to free the trapped motorists. 

The crash occurred about 10.55am. 

The intersection is closed.
