Aussie country music duo The Wolfe Brothers are ‘living the dream’, so much so that their latest tour is called just that.

The sibling duo from Tasmania, who were catapulted into fame 12 years ago by coming in second on Australia’s Got Talent, are bringing their latest tour to Townsville and are excited for the ‘wild and fun’ crowds they know and love.

Nick and Tom Wolfe come from a long line of musicians and berry farmers, with Wolfe’s Berry Farm in Neika, Tasmania having been passed down generations for over 120 years.

As part of their ‘Livin’ The Dream’ Tour the brothers will perform at the Dalrymple Hotel on May 17.

One half of the duo Nick Wolfe said Townsville is ‘always one of our favourite places to play’.

“There’s something about North Queensland, maybe the heat and the tropical setting. It’s always a party up there,” he said.

“Queensland in general is such an epicentre for Aussie country music.”

“We love getting out on the road and we are so lucky that this is our job. We are going to keep doing it as long as we can.”

The duo have won 9 Golden Guitar Awards over their 12 years in music, three of those at this year’s awards night, making them the most awarded country rock duo in Australian history.

Mr Wolfe said it was important to take the music to the people, saying regional towns are the heart of country music in Australia.

“Hitting the road and visiting the regional towns is awesome because that’s where some of the best fans are,” he said.

“On tour we are driving around with our mates, playing shows and having so many laughs along the way.”

Joining the Wolfe Brothers on their tour is rising Australian country music star Max Jackson, who took out the 2022 Toyota Star Maker Award and just recently won her first Golden Guitar for Best New Talent.

“The last couple years have been a whirlwind,” she said.

“Winning the Toyota Star Maker was such a huge push in my career. To win a competition that has produced huge names like Keith Urban and Gina Jeffreys was incredible.”

“From there all the opportunities have been insane. I was able to go play in Nashville and at iconic Australian festivals.”

Ms Jackson said her dreams were coming true, having sung country music since she was a child.

“My dream was to be able to connect with more people through my music share my story,” she said.

“I grew up in a small town in NSW and no shows would visit our town apart from country music. Aussie country music singers would stop by and it was the most exciting thing. Pretty much everyone in town would by a ticket, so I know how much country music shows mean for regional parts of the country.”

Mr Wolfe said that Ms Jackson was one to watch on the country music scene.

“She is such a talented performer and writer. You won’t find a more hardworking artist and person than Max,” he said.

“She also has taken on a very important role on the tour, sussing out the morning coffee and breakfast stops in each place we visit.”
