Top shelf candidates are coming out of the woodwork to compete for leading roles at the Tasmanian Football club as the Devils close in on a record membership of 210,000.

With four jobs on the market, the TFC says applications are not only coming in from people locally, they are also rolling in from around Australia and a handful have come internationally.

The Devils are looking for three premium people to fill the roles of general manager of football operations, a talent/recruiting manager and commercial operations manager.

CEO Brendon Gale is also looking for an executive assistant.

TFC marketing manager Kath McCann said the response to the new openings had been exciting.

“We have seen an unbelievable response to all four roles,” she said.

“We’ve had our general manager of strategy, people and culture, Lauren [Jauncey] appointed, and it would be fair to say her inbox and her days have been filled with talking to candidates who want to be part of the football club.”

There has been a “really broad range” of applicants.

“There are Tasmanians that want to be involved – we’re seeing a lot of Tasmanians who wish to return home to work in the club,” McCann said.

“And then there are those, particularly in the national landscape and some international, that are super-enthusiastic about the opportunities for the club, the opportunity for them professionally, and obviously the ability to be a part of the momentum and ground swell that is the Tasmania Devils.

“There is a lot of work to do to make sure we go through this process working with all of the candidates and ultimately get the very best people for the job as we take that next step to operations.

“We are really busy working with all of the candidates and going through really comprehensive recruitment processes to make sure we get those roles filled.”

Already holding the AFL record for club members, the Devils are close to reaching an unprecedented 210,000 members after their 2025 membership push started last week.

“We’ve had terrific start to the campaign,” McCann said.

“We’ve had thousands of members who have made their statement in purchasing their stickers and some of the other options.

“We have also seen a really good response on new Founding Members as well.

“We are really happy with that but we will continue to communicate really well with our members so they can understand how to support us in 2025 and how important their support is to the continued build of the club .”

McCann said now was “not the time to go quiet”.

“We need to make sure we continue to show Devils Pride in ’25, coming in and purchasing one of the member offers, and a statement sticker and a membership is a really easy way to do that,” she said.

“So we would encourage all of our fans and members to get onboard for this year as we continue to build and grow.”
