A former King Island mayor has made a brief appearance in a Hobart courtroom on child-sex allegations.

Alistair Duncan McFie, 58, known as Duncan McFie, last month pleaded not guilty to one count of make/reproduce child exploitation material.

On Monday, Magistrate Chris Webster adjourned McFie’s case and ordered the defendant to return to court for his next appearance later this month.

Mr McFie was the mayor of the King Island Council between 2014 and 2018, and resigned from the council in 2024.
