Meet the comedy group that ambushed Pauline Hanson with a Donald Trump lookalike at a polling booth in Hobart.

If you saw Donald Trump taking a selfie with Pauline Hanson at a polling station in Hobart on Saturday, you weren’t hallucinating.

Old Nick’s Uni Revue is back for 2025, with the troupe spinning the world’s latest political drama into a parody of the musical Wicked.

The cast of (DIM) WITTED, were nestled among volunteers handing out how to vote cards with deceptively similar “how to book’ cards to promote their upcoming show.

Voters initially refused to meet the cast’s eyes in an attempt to avoid going home with a handful of election flyers.

“People didn’t want to be anywhere near us until they realised we had nothing to do with the election,” marketing manager Bianca Paige said.

“It was really funny, their whole attitude changed.

“Everyone was engaging with Donald Trump, he ended up going on about tariffs out the front of city hall.”

The cast of characters, including Jacquie Lambie, Gina Rineheart, Donald Trump, a green and pink witch, and a goat, then went inside to vote.

The group delighted volunteers and passers-by who welcomed an escape from election day drama.

Later, the news that Pauline Hanson was in Hobart provided too good an opportunity for the comedy group to pass up, chasing her down at a polling station.

“We did a number from the show but then we realised Pauline Hanson was in Tasmania so we had to chase her down,” Ms Paige said.

“She took a selfie with our Donald Trump.
