Tasmanian Beau Webster has struck a half-century on debut to help shore up the Australian first innings in the fifth Test against India at the SCG.
The innings continues Webster’s excellent debut match - he took two sharp catches in the slips cordon and bowled a tidy spell of medium pace on day one.
Webster brought up his half-century off 92 balls with a three on a cut shot.
Cricket.com.au noted it was a muted celebration from Webster, raising his bat to the crowd briefly to acknowledge the applause before shaking hands with his skipper Pat Cummins.
Webster came to the crease this morning with Australia in trouble at 4-39 in reply to India’s first innings total of 185. He hit five boundaries in getting to his 50.
