Man critical following three-car crash at Paralowie in Adelaide’s north

A man is in a critical condition after crashing an allegedly stolen Holden ute into two other vehicles in Adelaide's north.

A man is in a critical condition following a three-car crash involving an allegedly stolen car in Adelaide’s north.

Emergency services were called to Waterloo Corner Rd just before 8am following reports of the crash at Paralowie.

The 26-year-old ute driver from Parafield Gdns was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

Local resident Andrew Gameau said he heard several “big smashes” and came out to see a man slumped over the steering wheel of an orange Holden ute that collided with a white truck.

“He was trapped inside the car,” he said.

“There were people trying to help him ... there was one woman holding his head.”

Police allege the Holden ute was stolen shortly before it collided with a BMW station wagon and a Hino truck.

Mr Gameau said the owner of the car “was just very angry ... very annoyed.”

Mr Gameau, who owns the same kind of car, described the ute as rare.

He said said the truck driver looked shaken but didn’t appear injured.

The white truck and orange ute is being examined by officers at the scene.

Major Crash officers are investigating the matter.

Waterloo Corner Rd was closed from Ascot Dr to Poplar Rd but has since reopened.
