Tim Waverley Morrison, 35, faces court after allegedly threatening ex-wife with service pistol while on-duty

The officer, formerly based in Adelaide’s south, has fronted court facing serious domestic violence charges. Now the court has revealed the extent of the charges against him.

A serving SA Police officer is facing multiple domestic violence charges after allegedly using his work gun, as well as a knife, to threaten his former wife.

In documents released by the Adelaide Magistrates Court to The Advertiser, Tim Waverley Morrison, 35, is alleged to have used weapons to assault and threaten his ex-wife in Aldinga Beach in 2019.

Mr Morrison, who still resides in the beachside suburb according to the court, has been charged with aggravated assault, aggravated threatening to kill or endanger life, aggravated committing assault with a weapon and damaging property.

Police allege the incidents occurred between June 1 and December 31, 2019 and that two of the charges relate to weapons.

“Tim Waverley Morrison, without lawful excuse, threatened to kill or endanger the life of (his former partner) intending to arouse a fear that the threat would be, or was likely to be carried out,” the documents allege.

“It is further alleged that Mr Morrison used an offensive weapon, namely a firearm, to commit or when committing the offence.”

Another charge alleges he used a knife to threaten her.

Mr Morrison was alleged to be on-duty when he used his service pistol to threaten his ex-wife, according to 7News.

SAPOL confirmed to The Advertiser that Mr Morrison had been suspended without pay, but would not comment on matters “currently before the courts”.

Mr Morrison remains on bail ahead of his next court appearance in August, when he is expected to answer the charges.
