Road restrictions are lifting after police attended a “mental health incident” on the South Eastern Freeway on Monday morning.

Both up and down tracks on the South Eastern Freeway near the Mount Osmond interchange were reduced to 40km/h with a city-bound lane closed just after the Heysen Tunnels.

Senior Constable Rebecca Stokes told ABC radio police had managed to safely resolve the incident, and a person was taken to hospital.

She said traffic restrictions were expected to be lifted before the morning peak-hour traffic began.

It comes as traffic restrictions are still in place as the pack-up continues are the city streets after the weekend’s VAILO Adelaide 500.
