A woman has died and three people have been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and a school bus at Korunye.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Mallala Rd and Navvy Hill Rd about 7.15am on Friday after reports a Fuso bus and Ford sedan had collided.
A 23-year-old Elizabeth North woman – who was a passenger in the car – died at the scene.
The driver of the sedan, a 22-year-old Freeling man and the other passenger, a 19-year-old Davoren Park woman, were flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment, with the passenger being treated for serious injuries.
Police officers at the scene said the bus was on its normal morning school run.
“It was a school bus heading north and that vehicle, the sedan, has hit the side of the bus and they’ve both rolled,” the officer said.
“The bus was travelling north (from the direction of Two Wells) on the way to do a school run – luckily no one was in there.”
The driver of the bus, a 36-year-old Pooraka man was taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A 2km stretch of road has been closed as police and Major Crash officers examine the scene.
7NEWS reported that the 24-seater school bus, operated by Kanga Coachlines, and the car both rolled after the collision.
