Australian golfing star Cameron Smith has met his match when it comes to the iconic mullet with several Adelaide kids showing off their own luscious locks to the British Open champion.

LIV Golf’s hottest ticket held an event to meet with fans and sign autographs in Rundle Mall on Wednesday afternoon as he prepares for the tournament at Grange Golf Course this weekend.

And it was four kids with mullets who stole the show.

Jack Cock, 11, Lincoln Maddocks, 7, Bradley Pearce, 10, and Hunter Fox, 4, caught the eye of Smith, landing a once in a lifetime photo opportunity.

When Smith was asked by The Advertiser how it felt to be in the mullet capital of the world, he didn’t have any arguments.

“Yeah there were certainly a lot of good ones out there that’s for sure,” he said.

“It was great to see a bunch of kids there today because that’s why we do what we do, to inspire that next generation.”

Smith said he was excited to be back on home soil for the next chapter of LIV Golf in Adelaide.

“I know the turnout is going be great and, you know, hopefully everyone out there has a lot of fun,” he said.

He said the Ripper GC squad – which included Australian teammates Matt Jones, Marc Leishman and Jed Morgan – are primed and ready to secure their first win.

“The boys are looking pretty good this week, so hopefully it can be our first win,” he said.
