Further investigations are required before child sex abuse charges against a Qantas airlines and former Department For Child Protection contractor can be finalised.
On Thursday, Hannah Neale, 29, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on a charge of maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with a child.
Police prosecutors told the court further investigations had been requested by the Director of Public Prosecution in relation to a number of employment records and statements from the alleged victim.
“(The further materials include) employment records for the accused and records of times that she worked for a particular organisation,” prosecutors told the court.
Ms Neale is yet to enter a plea. The Evanston woman was arrested in June after she allegedly abused a child for 18 months from December 2021.
Ms Neale previously asked the court to vary her bail agreement so she could continue her work for Qantas, who held her in “high regard” and hoped she could continue working.
Her counsel previously submitted she would not pose a risk to the community as it was “restricted” circumstances around the offending.
A Department for Child Protection spokesperson has previously said Ms Neale was “not directly employed” by the department.
7NEWS previously reported the 29-year-old was a worker with the Department of Child Protection.
The court heard a further eight weeks would be sought, and defence counsel did not object to the delay.
Magistrate Justin Wickens remanded Ms Neale on continuing bail to return to court next year.
Outside court, Ms Neale did not comment to media, and her counsel said there would be no comment at this time.
