Power restored for thousands of customers after outages across Adelaide

More than 2000 homes and businesses lost power across Adelaide after a surprise outage on Wednesday morning.

More than 2000 customers were left without power in part of the south and north-east of Adelaide, after unexpected outages on Wednesday.

Thousands of customers have now had their power restored with SA Power’s outage map about noon showing 14 outages affecting 436 customers.

Of the 14, five are unplanned outages affecting customers in Aldinga, Sellicks Hill, Mount George, Munno Para, Nuriootpa and Lameroo.

Earlier this morning, there were nine outages affecting 2332 customers, with five of them being unplanned outages in Highbury, Hope Valley, Glenelg South, St Peters and Mount George, according to SA Power Networks.

In Highbury and Hope Valley, 740 customers have been affected with power expected to be restored by 10.15am, while around 1,300 customers in Glenelg North have been hit, with restoration expected around the same time.

SA Power Networks is yet to confirm the cause of the outages.
