Hollywood stars hit the town after donning Port Adelaide colours at Showdown

Ozark star Julia Garner has been snapped eating out at one of Adelaide’s popular Thai restaurants.

The Hollywood celeb-spotting has begun in Adelaide, with in-demand stars Julia Garner and Jessica Henwick in town.

Adelaide fan Kerrie Papageorgiou got a snap with Garner at Golden Boy on Friday night. The popular Thai restaurant was recently listed in The Advertiser’s 2022 top 100 restaurants in SA.

“Spontaneously matching,” Kerrie joked about their stylish denim outfits.

Port Adelaide then shared a photo of Garner and Henwick donning the teal in a surprise appearance at Saturday’s Showdown win, with the actors enjoying the game in Power scarfs.

“Always great to welcome a couple more to the Port family,” Port’s official Facebook website boasted.

“Welcome to the Port Adelaide family, Julia Garner (Ruth Langmore from Ozark) and Jessica Henwick!”

Port fans rushed to gush on the website posting dozens of comments praising the women and warmly welcoming them to the club.

While there were plenty of stars on the field led by retiring Robbie Gray, few fans at the time realised there were stars in the stands.

Garner was then spotted at the Grace Emily Hotel on Waymouth Street, where she posed for a photo with local musician Seamus O’Reilly.

“She was really friendly, she had just been at the Port game and her crew recommended the Grace as a nice quiet pub,” Mr O’Reilly said.

“I was at a gig and she happily obliged a snap.”

American-born two-time Emmy award winner Julia Garner, who shot to fame after a breakout role as Ruth Langmore in crime drama series Ozark, is in SA with rising British star Jessica Henwick (The Matrix: Resurrections, Game of Thrones, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) working on the thriller The Royal Hotel with AACTA award winner Hugo Weaving.

The psychological thriller set across Adelaide and in remote parts of South Australia sees the women playing backpackers who take up a live-in job behind the bar of an isolated pub run by Weaving’s character.

The women initially enjoy some of the Outback Aussie pub culture but find themselves trapped as the situation spirals out of control.

However, it was all smiles at the game as Port steamrolled the Crows in one of football’s great rivalries.

Port’s posts made no mention whether the women were familiar with the game’s rules.

Backed by the SA Film Corporation, The Royal Hotel is expected to create 225 local jobs in a majority South Australian crew.
