Police sting smashes major drug operation in Whyalla and Pt Augusta

Eight people have been arrested in regional SA, after a police operation launched in December last year, resulted in more than 150 charges laid, cash, stolen goods and 13. kgs of meth seized.

A major drug operation in two South Australian regional towns has been interrupted, with eight people arrested and charged with more than 150 offences related to 1.3 kilograms of ice.

On Thursday, SA Police revealed that an operation launched in December last year, targeting criminals in Whyalla and Port Augusta for the sale and supply of illicit drug, has resulted in more than 150 charges laid trafficking in a controlled drugs.

Police said eight arrests had been made, after five premises were searched, which found 1.3 kgs of Methamphetamine (Ice), $10,000 in cash, one high end vehicle, and stolen property, including a valuable guitar and motorcycle stolen during break-ins to local properties.

Police have arrested and charged a 32-year-old man from Whyalla, two men aged 68 and 57-years, and two women aged 40 and 41-years from Whyalla Norrie.

Police have also arrested and charged a 40-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman from Port Augusta West, and a 30-year-old man from Port Augusta.
