Police hunt for attacker after man stabbed outside his Brompton home

A suspect is on the run and a man has been rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds after an assault outside a city-fringe home.

A man has been rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds after he was stabbed outside his Brompton home.

Police and other emergency services were called to Chief St, Brompton, just before 2.30am on Wednesday, after reports of an assault.

The victim, a 31-year-old man from the Chief St address, alleges he was standing outside his house and as he turned to head inside someone stabbed him in the leg and the arm.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police, with the help of police dog Axe, searched the area near the attack but were unable to find the suspect.

Crime scene officers went to the scene to investigate the incident.
