Operation Ironside: ‘Comanchero bikie’ Daniel Abrahamson and Mark Linke appear in court on drugs charges

Three more men have been arrested under Operation Ironside, including one police allege is a full Comanchero and will face drug charges.

Operation Ironside Phase 2

Operation Ironside detectives arrested three men at the weekend – including a man police believe to be a fully-patched member of the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang.

Daniel Abrahamson, 35, of North Adelaide, and Mark Steven Linke, 35, of Glenelg, both appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court via video link on Monday.

Abrahamson, who police allege is “believed to be a full member of the Comanchero OMCG”, is charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, two counts of trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and one count of trafficking in a controlled drug.

Linke is facing one count each of trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and trafficking in a controlled drug.

The men are yet to enter pleas to any of the charges.

Police said the arrests were “the result of the ongoing review of messages and images sent across the AN0M encrypted communication platform”, which law enforcement agencies were secretly monitoring.

A third man, 27, of Somerton Park has been arrested and charged with affray after an incident in a licensed premises in Glenelg on August 20. He was granted police bail to appear in court in November.

Serious and Organised Crime Branch Detective Chief Inspector Darren Fielke said officers were continuing to analyse messages sent on the AN0M platform.

“This ongoing work by investigators has uncovered evidence of large commercial drug trafficking,” he said.

“These arrests demonstrate that investigators will continue to pursue those responsible for trafficking harmful drugs in the community.

“Those individuals who used the AN0M platform to engage in criminal behaviour should not be comfortable, or think that they have avoided being arrested.”

He said community members should feel safe.

“Police will continue to seek out those who engage in criminal behaviour, including members of outlaw motorcycle gangs,” he said.

Magistrate John Wells remanded Mr Abrahamson and Mr Linke in custody, to return to court next week, when home detention bail will be considered.
