A prosecutor told the court they were opposed to any form of bail, as Mr Cammarano had previous convictions for drug trafficking and was “highly likely” to reoffend.

The prosecutor said it was a strong case, including numerous positives fingerprints and the evidence suggested a strong level of involvement in the drug trade.

Detectives searched a property in Angle Vale and one in MacDonald Park on November 6, where they located large quantities of methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine.

They also found a firearm, ammunition, body armour and an amount of cash.

Ms Cammarano and Ms Greenwood, both from MacDonald Park, were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including large commercial drug trafficking, possessing a firearm and body armour.

Stacey Carter, for Mr Cammarano, told the court the allegations related to two shipping containers, which police allege her client had access to.

The court heard the drugs were found in one of the padlocked shipping containers, alongside the purported firearm.

Ms Carter said Mr Cammarano was linked to the location as Ms Greenwood, 33, had made a payment to collect the container.

“Police … on the bail application for the co-accused do concede that other people have access to this container, bar this defendant,” she said.

Ms Carter said a trial for the charges would be a lengthy period away while they waited for the substances to be tested.

The court heard Ms Greenwood was Mr Cammarano’s long term partner and they had special needs children, including one with severe autism.

“She (Ms Greenwood) is struggling, she does need the support of Mr Cammarano substantially,” Ms Carter said.

Magistrate Justin Wickens denied Mr Cammarano bail, due to the seriousness of the allegations and his criminal history.

He adjourned the charges until April, noting he’d be very sympathetic to Mr Cammarano if there wasn’t progress in the case by then.
