Police are on the hunt for the rider of a stolen motorcycle that crashed and burst into flames at St Marys Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to South Rd, near Selgar Ave, just after 5am, after reports the white Honda smashed into a guard rail before catching fire.

The rider fled before officers arrived and has not been found.

Footage obtained by 7NEWS shows sparks coming off the motorbike before it bursts into flames.

The rider can be seen skidding off the bike and stumbling to his feet before fleeing the scene.

There are fears the rider may have suffered serious injuries and police have urged him to seek medical attention.

The bike had been reported stolen from Whyalla in June and was carrying stolen plates.

The incident occurred just hours after police arrested another man, with a police helicopter tracking an allegedly stolen dirt bike was across Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Sunday night.

Just after 8pm patrols spotted a Suzuki dirt bike with no number plates on Hamblynn Rd, Elizabeth Downs.

Police allege the rider failed to stop, taking off at dangerous speeds and at times travelling on the wrong side of the road.

Unbeknown to the rider, PolAir was already overhead and began following the bike as it wove through the northern suburbs for about 30 minutes.

The chase ended when the rider stopped on Burcombe St, Elizabeth Vale and ran inside a home.

Patrols moved in moments later, allegedly locating the 34-year-old Munno Para West man inside the property.

The dirt bike was also found, with checks confirming it had been stolen from Smithfield Plains last month.

The man was arrested and charged with speeding dangerously, illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified and several other traffic offences.

He was granted bail to front the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on January 20. The motorcycle was seized.

Witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage for either incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
