Lucindale home in SA’s lower South-East ravaged by fire leaving an estimated $400,000-$500,000 in damages
A fire in SA’s lower South-East has ripped through a home leaving the house with extensive damage.

A family home has been ravaged in a massive blaze in Lucindale, in SA’s South-East.
CFS and emergency services were called to the home about 2.20pm on Thursday after reports of fire at the home on Park Drive.
Fourteen CFS appliances were called to the scene.
Neighbour John McLean called triple-0 to report the fire after he was alerted to it from his home by a woman driving past honking her horn.
“I was in my house and suddenly I heard a car horn honking over and over again, I first thought it was the tenant’s little girl playing in the car or something.”
“When I came out there was a woman driving by in her car obviously trying to get someone’s attention. There were flames on the roof licking at the solar panels so I called triple-0 and the boys were out here in a flash.”
The couple who rent the property as well as their young daughter were not home and the time of the fire.
One of the tenants, Amy Rayner, declined to comment further but said she’s grateful to CFS for their fast response and for the Lucindale community who will no doubt put their arms around the family during this difficult time.
“We’re in the right community, that’s for sure,” Ms Rayner said.
“We’ll look after them.” Mr McLean promised.
The fire has been contained and a firefighter on scene said the estimated damage is roughly $400,000-$500,000.
The cause has not yet been determined yet, investigators are set to arrive tomorrow.
