Adelaide’s eagle eyes know when the iconic GPO Clock Tower watch stops ticking.
In recent days it was noted the grandiose clock towering above the Adelaide Marriott Hotel on the corner of King William St and Franklin St stopped working while pointing at 1:30.
It stayed at that time for longer than a few minutes.
A photo of the broken clock was taken at 9.15am on Friday as visual evidence.
Fortunately, the hands of time have resumed again after it was sighted the clock moving it’s big hand on Saturday.
The broken clock comes less than three months after the luxurious Adelaide Marriott Hotel opened its doors to the city.
The $200m hotel showcases 285 guest rooms and suites in the historic GPO building.
Previously, Adelaide Marriott general manager Paul Gallop told The Advertiser the hotel – has rooms starting at about $329 a night – and would become an “iconic” addition to the city.
“It’s worth every penny,” Mr Gallop said.
