Police have concluded a large-scale search for a person missing in the water at Henley Beach, just hours after two men drowned at Beachport.
Beachgoers raised the alarm at 1.20pm on Monday, after witnesses said they saw someone in distress in the water before they lost sight of them.
Emergency services, including surf life saving crews, immediately launched a search for the person in the water and along the shoreline.
An SA Police Airbus helicopter, ATVs, Polair and drones also assisted in the search.
There have been no further sightings since the search began, and SA Police have not received any reports of a missing person.
Police officers were also seen speaking to beachgoers during the search.
Volunteers from the surf life saving club have been using inflatable rescue boats to aid with the search.
Two police cars and several officers are on the scene as beachgoers watched on while emergency services conduct the search.
Despite police urging people to avoid the area, some were determined to hit the water, with two people spotted swimming near the shore.
It comes after two men drowned after their boat capsized on Monday about 11.30am at Point Connor south of Beachport, in the state’s South-East.
