Four teenagers have been arrested after a reckless rampage in a stolen vehicle over the weekend in Kangaroo Island.

Police allege a Toyota LandCruiser 4WD was stolen from the Kangaroo Island Hospital, sometime between 10pm on Friday to 7am on Saturday.

The stolen car was used to knock over several road signs before it crashed into a paddock – with the rampage causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to the car, fence and road signs.

Once officers attended, they were able to identify the suspects involved.

Two boys – a 17-year-old from Kangaroo Island and a 14-year-old boy – were arrested on Saturday and Sunday.

Two girls, aged 17 and 15 from Kingscote, were arrested on Sunday and Monday.

They have all been charged with theft and property damage and bailed to appear in the Kingscote Magistrates Court.
