Former Triple M Rush Hour hosts Greg Blewett and Andrew Jarman to launch new podcast, Blewey and Jars Uncut

The former top-rating drivetime radio co-hosts have announced a new project, following their show being controversially axed.

SA's axed Triple M Rush Hour hosts launch comeback

Axed Triple M Adelaide Rush Hour co-hosts Greg Blewett and Andrew Jarman are making a comeback, announcing the launch of a new weekly podcast starting next week.

Blewey and Jars Uncut will focus on sport but also provide plenty of the laughs and entertainment their former drivetime show was renowned for.

“It’s been crazy. Everywhere we go, everyone’s been asking us the same thing: ‘When’s your podcast coming out?” said Blewett, a former Australian cricketer and now commentator.

“We can’t wait. Jars is jumping out of his skin.”

Blewett said their podcast will aim to “fill the void” left by the axing of their top-rating afternoon program, which was dumped in September in favour of a syndicated Rush Hour show hosted by Billy Brownless and James Brayshaw in Melbourne.

“That’s the gap we want to fill. We’ve got no ill feelings towards the Rush Hour crew, we’re great mates with Billy and James,” said Blewett.

“We’ll let them do what they do but if you want to listen to SA content from a couple of SA lads then this is the place to go.”

Blewett said the pair would miss their former co-host Bernie Vince, now host of SAFM’s breakfast radio program with Emma G.

“Bernie would love to do it but can’t contractually now that he’s doing SAFM breakfast,” he said.

“I think he asked the question but it’s in his contract that he can’t do outside podcasts.”

Blewett lamented the Rush Hour’s demise, which came as a surprise with the program number one in their timeslot. But he said the new project would allow them more freedom.

“That’s the exciting thing about it. We absolutely loved doing the Rush Hour but we had certain direction that we had to take the show from time to time,” he said.

“But now we have full control. What you hear is what you’ll get. We just want everyone to give us a chance and listen in.

“We feel there’s a void that’s been left and hopefully we can give everyone a bit of a laugh and provide some decent content along the way.”

Blewey and Jars Uncut will launch on Tuesday, March 11.
