Family and friends have gathered to pay their last respects to beloved family-man and businessman Michael “Mick” Caddle, after his sudden death this earlier month.
Mourners packed the field of the Norwood Football Club – with many others in the stands – to farewell the respected manager of Caddle Crash Repairs, which was established by his father 54 years ago.
He died on March 5, aged 47.
Throughout the service, Mr Caddle’s loved ones took turns to share anecdotes, with many describing him as the “best husband, father, son and brother anyone could ask for”.
His wife Kelly gave a tribute, describing her husband – who she met more than two decades ago – as a brilliant father and the “fun parent”.
“He didn’t care if you had a billion dollars to your name, or zero,” she said.
“He treated everyone with kindness.”
His older brother Brenton said he was “a people’s person, a-give-your-shirt-off-your-back person”.
“Mick wasn’t just a great bloke or mate – he was that guy you’ll only ever meet once in your life,” he said.
“The world lost a ripper on 5th of March, 2025. Rest easy brother.”
On behalf of his parents, Barry and Maria, a family friend read a tribute describing him as “a special human being, who touched and helped so many people”.
“He had a big heart and loved helping people, always with a smile on his face.
“We find comfort in knowing he lived a good life”.
Mr Caddle is survived by his wife Kelly, daughters Harper and Violet, as well as his parents, Barry and Maria, siblings Brenton, Natalie, Geoff and Lee.
