Citizens help cops find teen thieves who robbed a man at Mawson Lakes

A group of youths who allegedly robbed and assaulted a man before fleeing were caught and charged after help from members of the public.

A group of youths who assaulted a man before robbing him and fleeing were caught and charged after help from members of the public.

A man was walking along Sanctuary Dr, Mawson Lakes, when a group of teenagers snatched his phone from his hand about 9.20pm on Tuesday night.

The man chased the youths and was assaulted when he attempted to retrieve his phone.

However, the victim was quickly assisted by members of the public who drove him around the area to look for the offenders and helped him contact police.

The suspects were spotted heading towards the interchange and police found the three male suspects on Elder Smith Rd.

Three teens, aged 13, 14 and 15, were arrested and charged with theft and assault.

They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on April 19.

A few hours later, a man was arrested after he was seen acting suspiciously in Glenelg North this morning.

About 2.15am on Wednesday, police were called to Adelphi Tce after a member of the public spotted a man acting suspiciously around cars, including shining a torch inside the vehicles.

Police found the man in a nearby car park and officers located an amount of methamphetamine and two ice pipes.

Checks revealed he was also wanted for a number of outstanding matters.

The 21-year-old Munno Para man was arrested and has been charged with illegal interference, possessing controlled drugs and possessing drug equipment.

He is being interviewed regarding the outstanding matters.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
