A primary school student was rushed to hospital after suffering an injury at a northern suburbs school.

Emergency services responded to calls from Northfield Primary School after reports a child fell in the school’s playground about 1.30pm on Monday.

The student was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital for treatment, but the extent of the child’s injuries are not yet known.

Northfield Primary School Principal Lucy Zadoyanchuk released a statement saying: “At lunch time today (Monday), a student fell after climbing onto a soccer goal frame on the school oval. The student was not impaled.

“Staff responded quickly, contacting the student’s parents and SA Ambulance, and offered first aid until they arrived. The student was taken to hospital to be assessed.”
