Edmonton product Jamie Renouf says he will be out to make a statement when he competes on Australia’s biggest mixed martial arts promotion this month.
The 27-year-old will face the undefeated Stewart Nicoll at XFC 47, to be held at Brisbane’s Mansfield Tavern on Saturday, March 13, with Nicoll’s XFC flyweight championship on the line.
“He’s a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and he’s won all his fights by submission,” he said.
“But I’m confident my well-rounded skill set will take the champion out of his comfort zone by forcing a stand-up striking battle.
“The fight will be five by five-minute rounds, allowing plenty of time for me to land the knockout blow.
