A Queensland dad has faced court after a ‘difficult situation’ spiralled out of control that saw him busted stealing an industrial vehicle from a depot.

A Queensland dad has faced court after being busted on a number of offences spanning months, including stealing an industrial vehicle.

Timothy Alfred Arthur Wright pleaded guilty to a total of 11 charges in a bulk arraignment by the magistrate.

The father of three, 36, committed the raft of offences between April and September 2024, including enter premise and stealing offences, police prosecutor Chris Willson said.

The man was said to have an “unremarkable” traffic history and a “limited criminal history”.

During the offending period, Wright stole a concrete truck from an industrial depot.

Defence lawyer Clare Hine said the man showed “levels of remorse” noted by his early plea of guilty and his admissions to police.

“During the stealing of the concrete truck, the vehicle was not damaged and presumably returned to rightful owner,” Ms Hine said.

Ms Hine noted there was no use of physical violence in the offending, particularly the domestic violence offending.

Wright pleaded guilty to one charge each using a number plate from another vehicle, driving with a demerit suspended licence, using a carriage service to menace or harass, breach of bail, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, two charges of enter premise on September 25.

He also plead guilty to three other charges.

Magistrate Janice Crawford said the father of three’s issues stemmed from the breakdown of a relationship, causing a “difficult situation” at home.

“I acknowledge this is a fairly difficult situation, nevertheless approaching it in this way will land you in custody,” Ms Crawford said.

“This is your first time ever in custody, for 24 days, and I have no doubt at all this would have been a salutary and unpleasant experience for you,” the magistrate said.

The magistrate labelled Wright’s offending as “serious” before he was sentenced.

Wright was sentenced to ahead sentence of six months, suspended for 12 months due to his “limited history.”

The man was suspended from driving for six months, and had 24 days in custody considered time served.

Convictions were recorded.
