THE wait was over this morning for Toowoomba's Year 12 graduates, who joined 37,000 others across the state in receiving their OP scores.

While formal certificates arrive in the mail from next week, graduates can view their Queensland Certificate of Education results and Overall Position (OP) score online today.

So, how did Toowoomba school students fare?

Thirty two per cent of students at Fairholme College ranked OP1 - 5, and seven students at Harristown State High School also scored within that bracket.

At Toowoomba Anglican School, 27.7 per cent of students received between an OP 1 - 5, with 11.1 per cent gaining an OP 1.

Wilsonton State High School reported 100 per cent of their students achieved their QCE, and the school dux was awarded an OP1.

There was another OP1 student at Toowoomba Grammar School and 29.9 per cent of the TGS cohort got an OP 1 - 5.

There were similar achievements reported at The Glennie School, where 26.9 per cent of students scored an OP1 -5.

Minister for Education Grace Grace congratulated the state's class of 2019 on their hard work, with 93 per cent of students achieving a QCE.

"The class of 2019 certainly sent the old system out with a bang, with 18,429 students receiving an OP result," she said.

"This is a wonderful result and a big thanks must go to all the teachers, staff and families who supported the students.

"Our year 12 leavers can now start the next chapter of their lives, whether that be studying at university, getting a job or taking up a trade or traineeship."

The magnitude of this year's score release was not lost on the students, who will be the last cohort to complete the OP system before the move to ATAR.

"It's really special, I was happy to be able to go through this system and get the score that I did," Year 12 Glennie OP1 graduate Ekene Aghanwa said.
