A Carina Heights woman charged with the shooting murder of a man in Logan has had her matter briefly mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court without her appearance.
Eric Ian Woodward, 41, of Slacks Creek, was on Friday found by police with life-threatening injuries at an address in Rowanda St, Slacks Creek, about 1.15am and transported to hospital, but was later declared dead.
Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch on Monday charged 28-year-old Carina Heights woman Macey Collins with one count each of murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and arson involving a motor vehicle.
A 42-year-old Eagleby man was also charged with one count each of accessory to murder, arson involving a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence and using a vehicle with a cancelled number plate.
He was additionally charged with two counts of failure to appear and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Collins allegedly murdered Mr Woodward and set fire to a car on that day, according to court documents.
Police alleged she attended the same address with one or more person and unlawfully used a car without the consent of a third person at night on Wednesday and Saturday, a day after Mr Woodward’s death.
Collins’ matter was briefly mentioned in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday without her appearance.
Defence solicitor Andrew Bale, representing Collins, made no bail application.
Acting magistrate Jon Ide ordered a brief of evidence to be provided by January.
He adjourned the matter to Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 4, 2026 for committal mention.
Collins also faced a string of drug-related offences including three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count each of possessing a property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, possessing property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, an offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous positions, while relevant drug is present in blood or saliva drive motor vehicle.
She was also charged with one count of failure to appear in accordance with undertaking.
It was the second fatal shooting in the area in less than a week, after a 35-year-old Bahrs Scrub man was shot and found dead at Hugh Muntz Park in Beenleigh last Tuesday night.
Police on Friday said the two incidents were not connected.
