A man charged with alleged crimes against children has missed court after being rushed to hospital.

The Cairns man who was charged with four counts of alleged indecent treatment of children was due to appear in Bowen Magistrates Court on Tuesday but the court heard he had to be taken to Bowen hospital via ambulance earlier that morning.

Solicitor Cleo Rewald from Richards Rewald Lawyers appeared as town agent for Macrossan & Amiet Solicitors telling the court the man’s wife had attended court to speak with her.

Ms Rewald requested that the man who was currently on bail have his appearance excused and requested a brief be ordered.

Acting Magistrate Nigel Rees ordered a brief be prepared by prosecution and adjourned the matters to August 26 for mention saying the man needed to attend in person on the next occasion.
