Bowen rollover crash causes head injuries to two men

Two young men have been injured, one with serious head fractures, in a car rollover in Queensland’s north where a helicopter rescue team attended overnight.

A 22-year-old male driver has suffered serious fractures to his head following a single-vehicle rollover in Bowen overnight.

An RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said a helicopter crew was called to airlift the man from Bowen Hospital to Townsville University Hospital.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said officers were called to the crash on Mount Dangar Rd at 7pm.

He said paramedics transported the male driver as well as his 22-year-old male passenger to Bowen Hospital.

According to a Queensland Ambulance Service statement, the passenger received a minor head injury and was in a stable condition.

The QPS spokesman said officers were still investigating the crash.
