An East Mackay man will face court in January after an incident at the Airlie Beach Lagoon allegedly involving a serious assault on a security guard.
Police allege a security guard become the victim of an assault after approaching two intoxicated men throwing items into the lagoon about 8.50pm on December 19.
One of the men, a 23-year-old from East Mackay, allegedly kicked the security guard, knocking him to the ground and caused him to fall into the lagoon, before running off.
Police later located the man and on reviewing CCTV footage that showed him allegedly urinating on the grass next to the lagoon, charged him with public urination as well as obstruct police and assault occasioning bodily harm.
The man will appear at Proserpine Magistrates Court on January 31.
