Pandanus St, Bowen: Paramedics, firefighters work to rescue man after high fall

Firefighters and paramedics attended after reports a man had suffered a nasty fall.

A man has managed to walk away after a nasty fall in North Queensland.

Paramedics and firefighters were preparing to work together to rescue a man in his 30s after they received a call saying the man had fallen between 5 and 8 metres near the Mother Beddock lookout in Bowen.

Paramedics on scene communicated with the man, according to a Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman, but were initially not able to access him.

Despite initial reports of ‘significant’ head injuries the man was able to walk away, according to the spokeswoman.

She said he refused medical treatment and was not transported.

One crew from the Queensland Fire Department attended Pandanus St, when called after 5pm on Tuesday, March 13 but did not have to proceed with a rescue as the man had self extricated.
