Lucy Caroline Jenkins faces court over death of Neale David Williams in crash

A Proserpine woman accused of dangerously driving her car while drunk causing the death of a Whitsundays man had her matters heard in Proserpine Magistrates Court.
Lucy Caroline Jenkins, 43, is charged with multiple offences including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.
It is alleged that Jenkins was behind the wheel on August 20, 2023 in Strathdickie near Airlie Beach when her ute crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with 67 year old Neale David Williams’ vehicle.
Williams tragically died from his injuries at the scene while Jenkins suffered a back injury and was flown to Townsville Hospital.
Jenkins is charged with 10 other offences including assaulting a police officer, breaching bail conditions, trespass, and possession of dangerous drugs.
The court heard a forensic psychologist appointment had been booked for Jenkins on 30 January 2025 and adjournment was sought to allow time for a report to be provided.
Jenkins matters were adjourned to 17 February, 2025 in the Proserpine Magistrates Court.
