Monday mornings just got a whole lot more fun thanks to a new Run Club which promises to help you get in your steps early with a morning yap.

The Balance Apparel Run Club kicked off in January and offers a time-based session for runners of all levels.

Co-founder of Balance Apparel, Jasmine Giesberts, said since the store opened in 2023 she learned how big the running community was in the Whitsundays, from competing runners, to aspiring runners, and even “hot girl walkers”.

Ms Giesberts has been running since October after her mum and sister inspired her to join them in the Noosa Half Marathon.

“It’s safe to say I very quickly fell in love with running and the runners high.”

She said naturally running became a common topic of discussion between herself and her friends, customers, and community, and the run club idea was thrown out.

The free community event is held at 5.15am each Monday at Wisdom Cafe in Airlie Beach.

Ms Giesberts said instead of the common distance based run or walk, 30 minutes of movement can be attacked however participants want.

It includes walking, running, intervals, or even walking with kids and pets.

“That way no matter what fitness level or ability – everyone can participate,” she said.

After the 30 minutes of movement participants are encouraged to grab coffee or treats from the Wisdom Cafe and have a chat with fellow runners.

Ms Giesberts said a community built on trust and connection, especially in a small town, could do a world of good and sometimes it was the simplest of things that made the biggest impact.

“Providing a safe space, more activities for our locals and visitors, relationship building, motivation, networking opportunities for our local businesses – the value is endless really,” she said.

“Movement, connection, and coffee – good for the mind, body and soul.

“If we can help even one person understand that they’re not alone and there is so much beauty in the world – that’s a win for us.”

Ms Giesberts added there were so many reasons to get involved from setting up your week for success and achieving personal goals, to meeting new people and getting outdoors to soak up the beauty of the Whitsundays.

The club is open to anyone, whether Balance Apparel customers or not, it is all about creating connections and getting active.
