Whinging England cricket team’s supporter’s text messages goes viral
A “whinging pom’s” foul-mouthed text tirade calling Australia a “culture-less country of c***s” during the Gabba Test match has gone viral.
A whinging pom’s foul-mouthed text message rant to family and friends while watching the Ashes Test match in Brisbane has gone viral.
Footage has emerged online of an English cricket team supporter messaging family and friends back home on WhatsApp while watching England take on Australia in the second Test match of the 2025-26 Ashes series at the Gabba.
In the series of messages shared by The 28 Year Old Male on social media, the man - wearing a replica of the shirt worn by the English side during the 1992 Cricket World Cup - complains about the Australian supporters sitting around him, as well as the Australian accent.
“Surrounded by C***s. The English are keeping their heads down,” one message read.
“The accents behind me and the crass comments irk,” another message read.
The man ends his tirade with his personal opinion of Australian beer, before commenting that he “won’t be returning” to Australia.
“The beer is expensive horse piss yet the natives still get pissed and remain unfunny,” he texted.
“Culture less country of c***s. I certainly won’t be returning.”
The video attracted a host of comments from cricket supporters.
“The greatest sound in the world is a silent pom at the cricket,” @matthoinc commented on Instagram.
“Hahahhhaa omg this is gold,” @mikegoldmanlive commented on Instagram.
The WhatsApp text message exchange - which has attracted over 1m views on social media, is the latest of a series of viral moments from the Gabba Test match.
It comes after Brisbane comedian Aaron Gocs went viral for accidentally distracting Steve Smith as he shaped up to face a delivery from English skipper Ben Stokes.
Several Brisbane Lions players were also caught on camera enjoying the off-season with Cam Rayner, Logan Morris, Sam Draper, Oscar Allen and Eric Hipwood captured enjoying the game from the bleachers.
