A water pipe has burst in an Ipswich suburb on Tuesday, turning it into a river.

The incident occurred at the corner of Eagle St and Kruger Pde at Redbank, cutting off water supply to nearby households.

Urban Utilities spokeswoman Michelle Cull said the crews have repaired the water pipe and are working to bring it back online.

“We’ve diverted water into the area to minimise impact to customers,” she said.

“However, some properties in Bellbird Park and Goodna may continue to experience periods of low pressure or no water until the pipe is operational.”

She said the company sent a crew straight away after receiving a report.

“The repairs have taken some time as it was a complex job, and we’re sorry for the disruption,” she said.

“Road restoration and clean-up works will continue into the afternoon.

“We thank the community for their patience while we carry out these essential responsive works.”
