Warwick residents will soon be able to enjoy a little taste of Mexico in the Rose City, with a big-name franchise moving into the former Cafe Jacqui’s site.
The prime Albion St location, which still boasts the iconic coloured dome, will soon be the home to Burrito Bar Mexican restaurant and bar.
The company’s website describes its cuisine as being “inspired from the streets of San Francisco, where amazing blends of traditional Mexican street foods came to mix”.
It also states its restaurants offer meals ranging from quick and tasty takeaway to generous share portions to enjoy with friends over a beer, margarita or tequila.
The Burrito Bar website confirmed the move, stating its Warwick site is “coming soon”.
No specific date was provided.
The move comes after longtime business owner Jacqui Dwan closer her popular cafe earlier this year after 19 years.
The site is one of the most prominent commercial sites in Warwick, and is still affectionately dubbed “the Dome Deli” but longtime residents.
Real estate data indicates the property was sold in February for $850,000.
