A Warwick mum has said she won’t feel guilty turning on the aircon on sticky summer days after winning $400,000 over the weekend.

The Rose City resident, who bought the ticket from Hynes Newsagency on Palmerin St, won the cash in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The Darling Downs player held one of the 13 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4509, drawn Saturday 5 October 2024. Each division one winning entry scored $401,209.07.

The woman was one of four in the Sunshine State who won big over the weekend.

“I’m shaking,” the woman said, in a statement released by The Lott.

“This is more money than I’ve had my whole life.

The woman said she has used the same numbers – family birthdates – for years.

“I usually check my Gold Lotto ticket when I get up on a Sunday morning, but this time I got distracted,” she said.

“Then I thought I hadn’t checked it. After I did, I had to get my family to check I wasn’t seeing things.

“I’ve got no idea what I’ll do with the prize just yet, but I won’t worry about turning on the AC so much this summer.”
