A 52-YEAR-OLD Stanthorpe man has been given a $522 fine after the truck he was driving rolled over on the New England Highway last week.

Emergency services were called to scene at Wallangarra last Thursday at 1.56am where the Wickham Freight Lines truck had crashed.

The man had reportedly driven off the highway and the truck rolled onto its side before hitting a tree.

Wallangarra Police Sergeant Alan Baker said police believed fatigue was a contributing factor in the crash.

The man was issued with an infringement notice yesterday for driving without due care and attention.

After the crash, the man was taken to Stanthorpe Hospital but he did not sustain any serious injuries and has since been discharged.
