MIXED MARTIAL ARTS: Warwick martial arts star Zane Brassington used two right hand strikes and a kick to win his third bout by a TKO within the first 15 seconds of the fight.

He is trained in Warwick by Ben Pepper from the Grow Strong MMA Club and won his fight at a recent XFC (Extreme Fighting Championships) at Mansfield Tavern in Brisbane.

The win was against Zack Blair from Integrated MMA in 15 seconds even though the fight was scheduled to go for three three-minute rounds.

Pepper said Brassington landed a big right hand, made knee contact and then landed another big right to win by a TKO.

"The fight was his third and he now has three wins within the first round,” Pepper said.

Brassington will now be the main bout at the Grow Strong Fight Night at WIRAC on May11.

"We will have 12 to 20 fights and have fighters coming from as far as Kempsey, Sydney and large numbers from Brisbane and Lismore,” he said.

"In mixed martial arts, fighters can punch, kick, knee, use takedowns and submission holds.”

Pepper has high hopes Brassington can go on to win major titles at Coastal Combat and XFC, a virtual Australian amateur championship.

"If he keeps on winning, we will work towards a welterweight title for Zane,” Pepper said.

Ten supporters of the Grow Strong club from Warwick travelled to Brisbane to watch Brassington win at Mansfield.
