GREG Wallace is one of 11 senior sports star monthly winners to be honoured at the Daily News/Warwick Credit Union Sports Star Awards Night on Monday at the Hawker Rd Function Centre.
Last year, Wallace won a silver medal in the four-ball, best-ball, golf competition at the Pan Pacific Masters Games at the Gold Coast.
He joined with former Warwick sportsman Kim McCasker to finish second in the A-grade competition which attracted more than 30 teams.
The gold medallists finished with 88 stableford points, Wallace and McCasker had 85 points and the bronze medallists were on 83 points.
In his youth, Wallace was an outstanding runner who made the semi-finals of Australia's most famous footrace, the Stawell Gift.
He had previously won Pan Pacific Masters Games medals in touch footy but has only contested the games golf on two occasions.
Wallace plays golf two to three times a week in Warwick and goes on away trips with a group of retired golfers, the Warwick Owls.
