Two possible captains put forward for Heat for next season

HEAT captaincy decision hasn't worked as they hoped - we need a change

Howzat: Opinion with Michael Bourke

THE Brisbane Heat seem to have struggled under the captaincy of Chris Lynn.

Lynn appears to have been putting too much pressure on himself to bat normally rather than the free-flowing batting that we are used to viewing with big sixes.

This has had a flow on effect to others like Brendon McCullum.

Lynn also does not lead by example in the field due to his inability to dive for the ball with his shoulder injury.

Possible replacement captains could include Jimmy Pierson or Alex Ross.

Australia Day games

THE Australia Day cricket carnivals in Warwick and Charters Towers keep getting more popular.

Last weekend in Charters Towers, more than 3000 cricketers participated with rain washing out a number of their games in north Queensland.

While the community needs the rain, it was good that the Warwick carnival did not get rained out with a number of cricketers travelling long distances to play.

Horse tip

MY horse tip for Saturday is for Hartnell in Sydney.
