Brothers do well for Wattles in reggies rugby league

COWBOYS under-18 coach wants major improvement in his side before game in Dalby.

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Morris brothers scored 20 points between them in the Wattles' 44-6 victory against Warwick Cowboys in the reserve-grade game at Father Ranger Oval on Saturday.

Tom Morris landed six goals and brother Alex scored two tries for a total of 20 points.

Brendan Wilson also scored two tries, with Josh Henry, Harry Shooter, Matthew Richards and Percy Cubby crossing for a try each.

Aden Howard scored a try for Warwick and Lance McGrady landed one goal.

In the under-18 game, Wattles won 30-28, the second game in 15 days when games between Wattles and Warwick went down to the wire.

Warwick coach Josh Williams said his side faced a heavy penalty count due to ill discipline.

"Lock Tom Bell was our best,” he said.

"We will need to improve to beat Dalby at Dalby on Sunday.”

Matthew Christensen was one of the best for Wattles.

Stanthorpe turned around a loss against Warwick two weeks ago with a convincing 38-16 win in second division in the first game at 2.10pm.

In the first half Stanthorpe led 14-0, Warwick then crossed for two tries to reduce the margin to six before Stanthorpe scored close to half-time for an 18-8 lead at the break.

Warwick second-division will play Dalby in the first game on Sunday at Dalby.

Wattles are at home to Highfields on Saturday at Platz Oval.
