A Warwick woman has fronted court after an alleged attack on a police officer, which left his skin broken at two points.

Rebeca Anne Bailey, who works as an adviser for a parents group, appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon from custody, with duty lawyer Clare Hine appearing to apply for bail.

The 33-year-old’s bail request was opposed by the prosecution.

Documents obtained by Warwick Daily News show Ms Bailey is facing two charges of serious assault on a police officer by biting or spitting, wilful damage of police property and wilful damage (domestic violence offence). She is yet to enter a plea to any of the charges.

Ms Hine said the woman’s alleged offending came after the “wheels came off” and she left a relationship.

Ms Bailey has “little memory of the incident”, including the alleged assault, and had no previous criminal history, Ms Hine said.

Magistrate Virginia Sturgess stated the skin was allegedly broken on two instances, and ordered Ms Bailey to complete a disease test.

Bail was granted, with Ms Bailey ordered to reside at a Gold Coast address and not contact anyone involved in the matter as part of her conditions of release.

The matter was adjourned until January 22, 2024.
