A Killarney man has been remembered as “gracious” and “beautiful” after his tragic death earlier this month.

Cody Iverson was 18 when on June 21 of this year he was taken to Warwick Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.

Police and paramedics were called to the incident on Acacia and Willow streets in Killarney, after the young man had reportedly fallen from a vehicle, understood to be a ute.

The young man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition shortly after.

Mr Iverson’s local community quickly rallied around him and his family in his time of need, organising fundraising events and even a day out at the Tannymorel Bowls Club to support the family.

A fundraiser for the young man and his family launched weeks after the incident raised more than $25,000.

However after spending a considerable amount of time in hospital, Mr Iverson died on October 2.

Tributes have flowed for the young man on social media in the wake of his tragic death.

Family friend Sarah Spinaze wrote on social media saying Mr Iverson was a caring boy.

“I met you when you were 3, coming into my family daycare. What a character you were! All through my 9yrs of daycare days you were there by my side with your witty little catch phrases, those big brown eyes, the happiest smile & I’m sorry but I can’t forget your sweaty schoolboy stink!” Mrs Spinaze said.

“How lucky are we to have had someone in our lives that makes saying ‘See you later’ so hard. We will never forget you Cody.”

Mr Iverson’s former workplace Offsider Agricultural Equipment said they are “all bereft” following the tragic news.

“Our second ever team member, Cody grew alongside the business becoming much more than just a young fulla burning wire. From Barcaldine to Bendigo and all points in-between, Cody showed up for us in ways we didn’t know we needed,” the business wrote.

“What a kid. It is a privilege to be part of a young person’s life, and we are very thankful to have had it.”

Dozens have taken to social media in recent days to express their grief and sadness at the loss of a hardworking and “gracious” young man.

“We were all so blessed to be part of Cody’s life (and) these memories will stay in our hearts & minds forever. Such a gracious young man. Strength (and) love to all of Cody’s family & friends,” Melinda Barling wrote.

“Condolences to the family. Such a sad loss of a beautiful young man,” Vicki Browne said.

“Sleep peacefully Cody my sincere condolences to all of Cody’s family. No words can be said to convey your sadness and great loss you must all be feeling right now. Bless you all and may you all stand strong together,” Melony Bennet said.

You can still donate to the family via their fundraiser here.

A funeral service will be held at Warwick Funerals Chapel, 48 Willi St at 10am on October 19.
